Early Pay from American Southwest Credit Union: Get Paid Up to Two Days Early

Get Paid Early with American Southwest Credit Union Early Pay

Payday can feel too far away when bills are due, plans come up, or unexpected expenses hit. That is why American Southwest Credit Union offers Early Pay, a simple benefit that can help you access your paycheck sooner.

With Early Pay, eligible members may receive their direct‑deposit funds up to two business days before their scheduled payday. There is no extra cost, no complicated setup, and no changes to how you get paid.

What Is Early Pay?

Early Pay allows American Southwest CU to release your direct‑deposit funds as soon as we receive payroll information from your employer or benefits provider. Instead of waiting for the traditional processing timeline, we make your money available right away.

In many cases, payroll files arrive a day or two before the official payday. When that happens, Early Pay gives you access to your money earlier.

It is important to note that Early Pay is not guaranteed every pay period. Timing depends entirely on when your employer submits their payroll files. When they send the information early, you benefit. When they do not, your deposit posts as usual.

Why Getting Paid Early Matters

Even a small boost in timing can make a big difference. Members tell us that having access to their money sooner helps them feel more confident and prepared.

Early Pay can help you:

  • Stay ahead of bills and avoid late fees
  • Manage cash flow between paychecks
  • Lower the risk of overdrafts
  • Reduce stress when planning purchases
  • Start saving earlier each month

For many people, one or two extra days provides valuable breathing room. It can turn a tight week into a manageable one.

How Early Pay Works Behind the Scenes

Once your employer submits payroll information, ASCU receives a notification that funds are on the way. With Early Pay, we act on that information as soon as it arrives, rather than waiting until the official settlement date.

This process is automatic. There is nothing you need to request, and no changes are required to your paycheck amount or schedule.

Because every employer processes payroll differently, Early Pay timing may vary from one member to another, even if they work for the same organization.

How to Start Using Early Pay

Getting Early Pay is easy since it is tied directly to direct deposit.

To get started:

  1. Set up direct deposit with your employer or benefits provider
  2. Provide them with ASCU’s routing number and your personal account number
  3. Once your direct deposit is active, Early Pay is applied automatically when deposits arrive early

If you already receive direct deposits at ASCU, you may already be enjoying Early Pay without even realizing it.

If you are unsure how your employer handles payroll timing, a quick conversation with their HR or payroll department can help set expectations.

Who Can Use Early Pay?

Early Pay is available for eligible direct deposits, including paychecks and certain benefit payments. Availability depends on the type of deposit and when the payroll file is submitted.

Because American Southwest CU does not control employers’ payroll schedules, we cannot guarantee early access every time. However, when the opportunity is there, Early Pay works to your advantage.

A Smarter Way to Manage Your Money

At American Southwest Credit Union, our goal is to help members build financial confidence and flexibility. Early Pay is one more way we support that mission.

When your money arrives sooner, you have more control, more options, and less stress. Whether you are paying bills, building savings, or simply planning, Early Pay helps you stay one step ahead.

If you are not using direct deposit yet, now is a great time to switch and start taking advantage of Early Pay.
