Zelle® Is Now Available to American Southwest Credit Union Members
American Southwest Credit Union is proud to offer Zelle® — now live inside ASCU Digital Banking for all eligible members. If you’ve been looking for a fast, easy way to send money without downloading a separate app, your search is over.
Whether you’re paying back a friend in Sierra Vista, supporting a family member in Douglas, or splitting the cost of dinner with someone in the Benson area, Zelle® makes it simple to send money to people you know and trust — directly from your ASCU account.
What Is Zelle® and How Does It Work at ASCU?
Zelle® is a payments feature built directly into ASCU Digital Banking. It connects eligible bank and credit union accounts across the U.S., so members can send money to friends and family with just an email address or U.S. mobile number — no third-party app required.
Does American Southwest Credit Union have Zelle®? Yes — and it’s already waiting for you inside your existing ASCU Digital Banking account. There’s nothing new to download and no separate profile to create. Just log in and go.
How to Get Started with Zelle® at American Southwest Credit Union
Getting set up takes just a few steps:
- Log in to ASCU Digital Banking on your mobile device or computer
- Navigate to the payments section and select Zelle®
- Enter your recipient’s email address or U.S. mobile number
- Enter the amount, review the details, and confirm
If your recipient is already enrolled with Zelle®, money goes straight into their account and is available to use in minutes.¹ If they aren’t enrolled yet, they’ll receive a notification with instructions to get set up and claim their payment.
Why ASCU Members Are Choosing Zelle® Over Other Options
You don’t need Venmo. You don’t need PayPal. And you don’t need a separate money transfer app when you bank with American Southwest Credit Union. Zelle® is already inside your account, which means you can send money to friends and family the same way you already manage everything else — in one place, with the institution you trust.
Here’s what makes Zelle® a smart choice for ASCU members across Cochise County and beyond:
No fees. ASCU does not charge any fees to use Zelle®. Sending money to a friend or family member costs you nothing.²
No extra app. Zelle® is built into ASCU Digital Banking. Whether you’re on your phone or your computer, you’re already where you need to be.
Fast. Money goes straight into your account and is available to use in minutes — not days.¹
Private. All you need is a recipient’s email address or U.S. mobile number. Your account information stays private.
What Can You Use Zelle® For?
Zelle® is designed for sending money to people you know and trust. Here are a few ways ASCU members are putting it to use:
- Paying back a friend for concert tickets or a shared meal
- Splitting the cost of a group gift or household expenses with a roommate
- Sending money to a family member for an unexpected need
- Giving a cash gift for a birthday, graduation, or holiday
Zelle® is intended for payments between people you know. It is not designed for purchasing goods or services from people you don’t know personally.
Is Zelle® Safe to Use at a Credit Union?
Zelle® is a great way to send money to friends, family, and others you trust. Because money moves directly from one bank account to another, it’s important to only send money to people you know. ASCU encourages all members to review Zelle®’s safety tips and consumer education resources at zelle.com before getting started.
Please note: Neither ASCU nor Zelle® offers a protection program for authorized payments made with Zelle®.
