Now Accepting Applications for Board of Directors

American Southwest Credit Union (ASCU) is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill two open positions on our Board of Directors. This is an opportunity for engaged members in Cochise, Graham, Greenlee, Pima, Pinal, and Santa Cruz counties to help guide the future of their local credit union.

In accordance with ASCU’s bylaws, the Board may appoint individuals to fill vacancies. To promote transparency and community involvement, we are inviting interested members to apply.

Board service is voluntary and requires a commitment to regular meetings and fiduciary responsibility.


Eligibility Requirements

To apply for a Board position at American Southwest Credit Union, applicants must:

  • Be a member in good standing of ASCU.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Reside in or have ties to the credit union’s service area.
  • Be willing to serve in a governance and oversight role.
  • Meet all qualifications outlined in ASCU’s bylaws.

How to Apply for the ASCU Board of Directors

Interested members should submit:

  • A current resume.
  • A letter of interest explaining qualifications and interest in board service.

Selection and Appointment Process

All applications will be reviewed by the ASCU Nominating Committee, which will evaluate qualifications and recommend candidates to the Board of Directors.

Final appointments will be made in accordance with American Southwest Credit Union bylaws and governance procedures.


Important Notice Regarding Elections

This announcement is intended to identify candidates to fill current Board vacancies.

  • If the number of qualified applicants exceeds the number of open positions, ASCU may conduct a member vote or election process as required by its bylaws.
  • If fewer qualified applicants are identified, the Board may proceed with appointment authority under existing bylaw provisions.
