ASCU Skip-a-Payment Program raises $2,045 for American Red Cross
American Southwest Credit Union would like to send a heartfelt thank you to our Members who participated in the 2017 Holiday Skip-a-Payment program that benefited the American Red Cross.
Each year in an effort to make the holidays a little easier, ASCU offers a Holiday Skip-a-Payment program which allows participants to skip their loan payment for the month of December. Giving folks a little extra cash around the holiday season to ease their financial stress.
This year ASCU did something a bit different with the program. When hurricane season hit with Harvey, ASCU donated to the American Red Cross Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund and encouraged members to do the same.
As the season continued, other hurricanes such as Irma, Jose and Maria continued to devastate our nation becoming the second costliest hurricane season in history. With members across the nation, ASCU wanted to do more for those effected and decided to take action. ASCU announced that of the $10 fee collected to participate in the Skip-a-Payment Program for 2017, they would donate $5 of that fee to the American Red Cross. With this action, ASCU raised $2,045 from the fees and donated the proceeds to the American Red Cross for Disaster Relief.
